“Release the Muse”

Werewolf- Object Writing Feb 7th

How do you stop a werewolf – is that one the silver bullet? Stake through the heart- no that’s vampires. Buffy’s been on my mind lately – up to episode 7 of series one, the genesis- all those little details that make sense later on. How does one become a werewolf- are you born or is it a bite- transmission? What about having to look after all that hair, not a pretty sight in the mirror, as the smiling silver disc shines in through a bathroom window and the howling begins, a guttural wrench from the back of throat, the hollows of the lungs concertina in and out.

Camping in a dead forest one time – no one for miles, the campfire finished its crackle and spit – dead silence and then — ah ooooooooooooo could have been werewolves, or  ‘A’ werewolf. Meat eaters I suppose – actually what is there raison de’etre? What purpose does a werewolf serve, but to scare the crap out of us in a movie. Are they Chew-bacca relatives from some other planet – but wait I’ll just go through this amazing transformation -Hulk style, clothes shredding hair growing out of unexpected places – not as if you don’t know its going to happen – or do you? – Memory wiped like a computer hard disc- no responsibility for actions- that’s how it seems to be on TV shows and movies – the double life, a coin with two faces. Flip it up to see, watch it spinning and turning round so gently, a momentary flight and a life changes with a tinkling sound on the concrete.

There seems to be a crop of things on at the moment – vampire diaries, being human- and some other show which I didn’t even realise was a vampire show until half way? Are werewolves the next big thing? Sure would be a hassle getting all that make up on, imagine being in the chair no dash of powder puff make up – just lost hours, maybe it’s a suit and they just dot the face on, follicle by follicle.
