The board room was full of mid to late middle age men in sharp suits, some with apparently perfect heads of hair and others ranging from a mild tinge of salt and pepper grey to full steel. Once again they were meeting to work up a new menu of ideas that they could foist on the public. Througout the day heads of departments were to come and perform presentations, drawing aside the velvet curtains of their laptops to reveal their well put together show on projection screen walls in multimedia luminence. Later discussion will ensue and the best ideas will be put into the cookbook and seasoned further by their years of experience.

The C.E.O. is a good man, the salt of the earth, solid string dependable, his life has been coarse, his experience formed on a bed of rock salt. The 2 I.C. is a thin bony man reminiscent of those pepper grinders that waiters come around with just after a steaming dish of pasta has been served. He spices the meeting up no end. The others are really bit players, full of grainy and powdery thoughts and ideas that nobody even cares to sneeze at most of the time. But the combined efforts of these morsels of capitalism keep serving a up a hearty meal for the shareholders with a sweet dessert of dividends every year – no one is complaining. Today however the C.E.O. had some news that is going to grind down the minions on the lower reaches- due to certain financial constraints and cash flow issues, there were going to have to be some redundancies or as they liked to call it re-allocation of resources.
