Fragments & Thoughts 14 Feb

Station Feb 14

Youths getting onto a train
With ripped bell bottom jeans
Some corporate types
Heading back to the city to catch other connections
The madness of rush hour
The collision of passengers on the concourse
The information booth
Granting customer satisfaction
Shrouded in shrubbery
Just dressing up plain wooden boards
Are they assuaging their guilt
After the recent ‘hot day’ disasters
Where fifty percent of their services Where cancelled
Or useless
Because of some dispute involving air conditioners
And that other excuse of buckled tracks
Two thousand pairs of feet thunder toward dinner and home
High heels clip clop on the naked ground
This rushing river of human traffic
will become still and dissipate to a grave yard
by the time I leave three hours from now
With a shopping bag full of eggs and bacon
For a breakfast meting
With a friend I haven’t seen for quite some while.
In the supermarket some twenty year old girls
With acne and tight blue jeans
The other with pony tails
and a tightly tailored jacket
Is obviously mouthing off about her relationship issues
“Cheated on me, Lied to me, abused me”
If I was her – I’d be leaving him
