Budget – Daily Writing March 13

He really abhored doing it;
1./ defining the budget and
2./ sticking to it,

but this was the only way he could afford to live in the property he had purchased. After many nights of streamlined scheming he was now here, but to do it he had elasticised his finances and now with the first rubbery bills reality had started to bite. He knew action had to be taken. He knew from now on it was the straight road of the budget’s highway, no running off the shoulder into the rough gravel, no undue expenditure. Nights out – GONE-, drinking matches – GONE. Was this ‘responsibility’? For a moment he considered that his ‘life’ might be over. From now on just the plain taste of vegetables with no sauce. It seemed to bee a spaghetti with no sauce sort of budget he had formulated here. The budget he had constructed reminded him of a trapped animal or bird in a cage – the realities were stark, the moment he started to wander off track the trapped animal in the cage would start squawking and biting and nipping away at his conscience, tinkling alarm bells would flame into existence and he would surely just stop in his tracks and have to drop to his knees in obedience and pray to the Budget God for forgiveness if he sinned…..
